2008 CLEANUP RESULTS

  • 3,943 volunteers registered to participate in more than 115 cleanup locations throughout Austin.
  • Volunteers worked roughly 14,630 hours to remove tons of trash from littering Austin.
  • We estimate the value for just the volunteer time to be $266,266.00.
  • 30.5 TONS of trash was collected during Clean Sweep (that's 60,946 lbs).

In addition to the dollar savings, the valuable lessons about the meaning of community service, the virtue of personal responsibility and the importance of litter prevention are immeasurable!
