Green Teens Blooms at Martin Middle!

Green Teens at Martin Middle School currently has over 20 participants that participate in weekly activities to learn about green gardening including beneficial bugs, composting, and organic gardening along with gaining a better understanding about nutrient cycles, healthy living, and comparing growth cycles from their garden to the greenhouse.

    Green Teens are active weeding and planting in raised beds to grow vegetables and herbs for a salsa making project.

 Green Teens harvest vegetables from the garden to make homemade salsa. Green Teen Carolyna leads others in recreating her families spicy hot recipe while some create labels to package the salsa. Leading up to the salsa activity students learned about organic gardening and nutrition.

   The revamped greenhouse is currently being used to grow seedlings for summer and fall plantings.
