Earn an "I Keep Austin Beautiful" patch!

It’s easy…. complete a service project and an educational activity focused on the environment to receive your “I Keep Austin Beautiful” patch.

To date, 1071 youth have shown their commitment to the environment and earned a patch.

Keep Austin Beautiful provides: Patch Pals Activity Kits, cleanup supplies, recycling bins, and tools to help you become a Patch Pal.

Laurel Mountain 5th grade teacher has this great thing to say about Patch Pals, "We are working hard to expand our ecology club and activities. Earning this badge fits in perfectly and is such a motivation for the kids."
 

CLEAN SERVICE PROJECTS                                                                                    

• Participate in a KAB cleanup (Clean Sweep, Lake Travis Underwater Cleanup, Lady Bird Lake)                                                               
• Organize your own cleanup
• Recycle at your next meeting or volunteer to help recycle at a KAB event (KAB Recycling Bins available for checkout)

• Design and paint a mural
• Remove graffiti (KAB provides painting supplies through Tool Shack)
• Plant a flower bed, tree, wildflower meadow, etc. (KAB Tools available for checkout)
• Participate in a trail maintenance day (remove brush or repair a trail) - see our calendar of events for volunteer opportunities.
• Find your own way to make Austin even more beautiful

 EDUCATE                                                     

• Complete the Patch Pals Activity Book (currently out of stock; coming soon)
• Complete a Patch Pals Activity Kit (Activity Kits available for checkout)
• Mark storm drains
• Create a play, game, or story about an environmental topic (recycling, waste reduction, native plants, air quality, etc.)
• Read a book about the environment
• Make a presentation to another group about how they can keep Austin beautiful
• Go on a nature field trip
