"I Keep Austin Beautiful" Workshop– Hosted by KAB and Waste Management

Junior Girl Scouts ventured out for a day to plant a native garden, tour a landfill, take a nature hike through a wildlife habitat and learn about recycling and native plants on Saturday, May 19th when KAB and Waste Management partnered to host a free “I Keep Austin Beautiful" workshop.

The workshop was held at the Waste Management Landfill where scouts got to see first hand how heaps of trash are managed. Activities were complimented by the Patch Pals Activity Booklet that offered a review of landfills and recycling, and an overview of the importance of native plants. Scouts were presented with an “I Keep Austin Beautiful” patch to boast of their participation and service for keepin’ Austin beautiful.

Thank you Waste Management for your support of Patch Pals.
