Runners’ Rubbish Report

Who knows the trail better than runners who get to take advantage of this unique running track on a regular basis?  KAB has partnered with the Austin Runners Club to develop a team of runners who submit a Runner’s Rubbish Report once a week.

This report provides us timely information on exactly where the trash is in the lake, so KAB can match volunteers up with the trash.

CLICK HERE to submit your Runners’ Rubbish Report (walkers, strollers, picnickers, frisbee throwers, etc. reports are welcome too)

Ready to take on the trash? Pick a cleanup spot from the up-to-date list below and then click here to register your cleanup.  KAB will provide cleanup supplies, arrange for the collection of the full trash bags, and can even help recruit volunteers.

Cleanup Target Zones: Week of January 18th, 2010

  • Shoal Creek and 6th Street before the creek flows into the lake, types of trash = everything!
  • between mile markers 5 & 6, north shore, east of I35
  • "lagoon" on north shore between the Holly Power Plant and Pleasant Valley (perfect opportunity for volunteers with their own canoe, kayak, or raft)
