Do you have a favorite creek? Would your group like to take ownership of your community and make a visible impact on your local environment?  If so, Adopt-a-Creek is the perfect opportunity for your group.

 
Adopt-a-Creek Today!
Involve your group, large or small, in an ongoing service project. Become an Adopt-a-Creek partner by committing to maintain a segment of an Austin creek. Keep Austin Beautiful and Watershed Protection Department will provide everything you need, and assist you at every step.

Adopt-a-Creek Partners
Groups preserve and improve their adopted waterway by:
• “Adopting” a ¼ mile of an Austin creek for at least 2 years
• Conducting at least 4 creek cleanups per year
• Marking storm drains (optional)
• Restoring creek habitat (optional)
 
What We Offer
As an Adopt-a-Creek partner you will receive:
• An Adopt-a-Creek certificate and tile recognizing your group’s creek segment
• Guidance with the planning of your cleanups
• A Cleanup Kit that includes: trashbags, gloves, pickup tools,  poison ivy block, and a first aid kit
• Trash collection arranged by KAB- must be requested two weeks in advance
• Fun giveaways to thank volunteers for their participation
• Storm drain marking kits
• Gardening tools and technical assistance for restoration projects
• Educational presentations and activities
• Recognition of your group’s commitment on the KAB and Watershed Protection websites
