WHAT IS CLEAN SWEEP?

Clean Sweep is KAB's annual citywide cleanup that takes place all over Austin.  The first 4,000 volunteers to register get a free event t-shirt and it’s followed by an awesome Volunteer Party and Environmental Fair at Waterloo Park which includes: free lunch, live music, kid’s environmental activities, recycled art, door prizes and more!

2009 Results

• 4,087 pre-registered volunteers
• 119 cleanup locations throughout Austin
• 47 TONS of trash collected
• Hundreds of unique objects including:  Mercedes Benz car keys, geocaching container, light saber, “It’s All About Me” heart shaped pillow, a coaster with Snow White on it,  and much more.

Party Highlights

• Live music by La Tampiquena
• Free lunch for hundreds of volunteers
• Kid’s environmental activities and exhibits
• Raffle winner announced for two (2) three-day passes to the 2009 ACL Music Festival. Generously donated by C3.
• Door Prizes from: EcoCLEAN, Eastside Café, Greenling Organic Delivery, Holiday Inn Austin, & Studio 563. 
• Unique Object Contest winners awarded with gift boxes from Newflower Farmers Market
• Studio 3 customized Clean Sweep volunteer t-shirts and clothing brought from home with screen printing to give them their own unique look
