Mother Earth Day Festival05/09/2008 Volunteers needed for Mother Earth Day Festival at the Springs, May 9 (9am-1pm). Bill Oliver could use some help with this Zilker Park event, now in its 7th season. 400-500 kids from seven or more schools are expected. Assistance is needed in set up and tear down (come early and/or stay late), and helping with stage crew and the exhibitors. There's lots of music, science, and fun, and Bill will try to have a Thundercloud Sub for you! Recycle @ March for Babies05/10/2008 The March of Dimes is renaming its premier fundraising event from WalkAmerica to March for Babies. The name change leaves no question about why people areparticipating in the event – for the health of all babies. By engaging more people in themission, and educating more pregnant women and moms about healthy babies we hopeto reach our goal of giving every baby a healthy start that much sooner. About 7,000walkers in 2007, including individuals and participants from many of Austin’s largestcompanies, joined us at our event. Event organizers expect around 8,000 to join themfor food, music, great company and a great cause this year! Babies and children arewelcome (and expected!!). Volunteer help is needed to make sure as much waste isrecycled as possible. Weed Beds/Prune Plants Neighborhood Green06/08/2008 Bruning Green is a neighbor-maintained green space that was established in 2001 and has been developed into a beautiful little public space with a butterfly bed, path, stone seating walls, and bench.
