Sow Seeds Along Little Bear Creek4/10/2010 Spring has sprung and now is the time to get out and enjoy it! The Water Quality Protection Lands have several volunteer opportunities coming up in the next few weeks and they’re looking for some folks to help out! You can find many of these opportunities on the calendar of their website (http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/water/wildland/onlineregistration/ecowebevents.cfm ), in addition to guided hikes and lectures that may also interest you. Each of these events requires participants to carry about 10 pounds of grass seeds and/or a rake over rough terrain. Keep Austin Beautiful’s Annual Citywide Clean Sweep!4/10/10 Clean Sweep is KAB's annual citywide cleanup that takes place all over Austin.  The first 4,000 volunteers to register get a free event t-shirt and it’s followed by an awesome Volunteer Party and Environmental Fair at Waterloo Park which includes: free lunch, live music, kid’s environmental activities, recycled art, door prizes and more!  Last year more than 4,000 volunteers registered to cleanup 120+ sites!    Date: Sat, April 10th Time: Cleanup  9:00AM – 11:00AM,  Volunteer Party 11:30AM – 1:30PMLocation: All over Austin!  See registration for detailsRegister: www.keepaustinbeautiful.org/cleansweep Contact:  Jessica@KeepAustinBeautiful.org or call 512.391.0622
