Recycling Rangers Save the Day

…by rescuing plastic bottles, aluminum cans, and cardboard from the landfill

KAB volunteers and TPWD employees rode to recyclables' rescue at the Texas Parks and Wildlife EXPO on October 4th & 5th and saved fifty cubic yards of material from the landfill!

Volunteers reminded visitors and vendors to recycle, monitored recycling bins, changed liners, pulled recycling from trash cans, piled materials onto an electric golf cart and then into the recycling roll-offs, gave out “Recycling Rocks!” temporary tattoos, shared information about composting and nature’s recyclers (worms), answered questions about the city's switch to Single Stream Recycling, helped kids play the Litter Lifeline to learn about trash decomposition times, made trash into art, and showed off their Ranger skills at the

“Aim to Recycle” shooting range.
