KAB has internships available for the Fall, Spring and Summer terms. Internships are unpaid but are available for academic credit. All summer 2010 internship positions are full, check this page in August for fall opportunities
 
Events Intern - Position filled for Summer 2010
KAB’s  "Green" Events Interns will help plan and coordinate our signature event  Clean Sweep coming up in April.  More than 4,000 volunteers participate in this event so we need a detail oriented volunteer with flare, focus & lots of creativity.
 
Qualifications
If you have a keen eye for detail, thrive on juggling multiple deadlines, love to plan, plan, plan and can take an idea and run with it, this might be the perfect internship for you! Please keep in mind that this internship will require you to be highly organized, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and have strong communication skills.

Community Programs Intern
KAB seeks an intern to assist with ongoing community programs including Cleanups & Tool Shack.  The intern will track results, work directly with community leaders to provide supplies, assist with grant writing, and research program improvements.
 
Qualifications
Interns should be detail oriented, comfortable working with a variety of volunteers, and able to contribute  2-15 hours per week.

Environmental Education Intern 
(fall 2010 internship available; minimum 20 hours a week)
KAB’s education programming is growing faster than we can keep up! We are seeking a fall intern to assist us with our education programming in the following areas:
  • Patch Pals Coordination – answering Patch Pals inquiries; and coordinating and tracking Activity Kit checkout.
  • Outreach - update existing contacts and consolidate contacts into KAB’s database system, along with researching new venues for promoting KAB education programs to schools and youth groups. 
  • Activity Kit Development – inventorying, restocking, and labeling supplies;  as well as researching and developing new activity kits and updating existing activities.
  • Academic Connection - draw correlations of KAB activities to state academic standards and determining grade level appropriateness of activities.
Qualifications
The intern should be proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop on Mac and PC Platforms and be setup to work independently. Minimum commitment of 20 hours a week.

Graphic Design Intern 
(fall 2010 internship available; minimum 20 hours a week)
KAB is seeking a Graphic Design Intern to assist with our communications and brand development. The intern will work on producing high-quality print and electronic marketing materials to reflect the distinct image of KAB. Materials include advertisements, fliers, and logo development for our upcoming Clean Sweep event. The intern will have the opportunity to build his/her portfolio while developing as a designer.
 
Qualifications
The intern should be proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop on Mac and PC Platforms and be setup to work independently.
