KAB provides resources and education to inspire individuals &
the Austin community toward greater environmental stewardship

On January 19, 2008 volunteers went out on a ledge to remove years of accumulated trash from Mt.Bonnell.  This collaboration between the City of Austin’s Parks and Recreation Department, Central Texas Mountaineers, and KAB resulted in 31 volunteers removing more than 100 bags of trash from the cliffs of one of Austin’s most loved landmarks.  Trained climbers spent 4 hours rappelling and picking up trash while non-climbers assisted by ferrying the full trash bags from the climbers to a collection point.
