NBG 2006 Gullet Elementary PTAGullet Elementary School PTA 2006 Neighborhood Grant Recipient The Gullett Elementary School PTA’s Outdoor Classroom Committee worked with 4th grade teachers and a parent landscape architect to design a native habitat garden for the 4th grade courtyard. With grant funding and lots of volunteer hours, they transformed a bare area into a teaching garden with a large container pond, beautiful native plants, a raised bed, rustic seats, rain barrels to aid in water conservation, a dry streambed with a stone bridge, and even a Native American crop garden. The garden provides hands on experiences to students as they observe ecosystems in action and work together to maintain this beautiful habitat.
