Bouldin Creek Neighborhood Association

2007 Neighborhood Beautification Grant Recipient

Since 1985 the Bouldin Creek Neighborhood Association (BCNA) has been the guardian of Nicholas Dawson Park through the City of Austin’s Adopt-a-Park Program.  Over the years the neighborhood has worked collaboratively with the Parks and Recreation Department (PARD) to make the park a true community asset.  The park now boasts a native landscape, crushed granite pathways, and a tile mosaic water tower and garbage bin that capture the eclectic essence of this neighborhood.

Grant funds will be used to establish a landscape along the northern end of the park that will encourage neighbors to walk through and experience the park.  Old construction debris and invasive plants will be removed, existing structures will be incorporated into the design, and the landscape will feature native plants that require minimal supplemental watering.
