NBG 2010 Hostelling International - Austin
Hostelling International - Austin 2010 Neighborhood Beautification Grant Recipient Hostelling International-Austin, located on beautiful Lady Bird Lake, is the only hostel in the City of Austin and operates a 48-bed hostel. The hostel has a patio space for guests to use and enjoy, as well as two very small garden plots that are not utilized to full capacity. Currently the plain patio space not pleasing to the eye and does not represent the beauty and creativity of Austin. Funding from Keep Austin Beautiful will be used to install a rain barrel, create a composting station, plant vegetables and native plants, and to create a mural. The goal of this project is to make the space much more reflective of Austin for visiting travelers from all over the globe. Click here for a news story filmed Earth Day 2011.
