MLK Day Service Events a Success!

This MLK Day, KAB partnered with several organizations to coordinate and support service events around Austin both large and small! From cleanups to trail construction, hundreds of volunteers made a huge impact in the community, and KAB is proud to have been a part of it!

Samsung makes big splash at Lady Bird Lake!

Samsung Austin Semiconductor announced a $25,000 sponsorship to support the Keep Austin Beautiful Lady Bird Lake Cleanup program. Samsung’s contribution is the first corporate sponsorship for the six-year program as well as the largest sponsorship, to date.

Have you ever noticed how our beautiful creeks and rivers become filled with trash after storms?  KAB is teaming up with the City of Austin Watershed Protection, Austin Resource Recovery, Austin Parks & Recreation and The Trail Foundation to teach Austinites how and why they should can litter before it ends up in our waterways.

Announcing the 2011 Good Sports Always Recycle Winners

Schools are going green and being recognized for it too! Winning schools receive $500 to improve their campus environmental efforts and will be recognized on the field at the Texas vs. Kansas State Game on November 19th.

Mighty Fine Makes a Big Impact

What does 4 volunteer projects, 55 volunteers, 178.50 service hours, and over $1200 in-kind donations look like? Mighty Fine (burgers, fries, shakes) knows as they defined service this September to beautify school grounds.

 

KAB selected as 1 of 24 Dell YouthConnect recipients!

KAB is excited to partner with Dell YouthConnect to incorporate technology into our Green Teens program. With Dell resources, Green Teens students will utilize Dell Streak 7 Tablets to develop critical thinking skills and creativity as they plot invasive plants, design gardens, index litter, and blog.
