I-35 Makeover Project breaks ground

Work to improve the area underneath Interstate 35 from 6th to 8th streets has finally gotten started! In an effort to revitalize the area and reconnect East and West Austin, the project will improve lighting and safety and will create an "attractive gateway" across the interstate.  The project's landscaping will be funded by a grant from Keep Austin Beautiful!

Green Teens Showcase, Saturday May 8th!

KAB celebrated the hard work of students in our Green Teens afterschool program. On Saturday, May 8th visitors gathered at Kealing Middle School to learn something new, meet some brilliant young people, and pick up a few environmental pointers as students taught back what they learned this semester.

 

2010 Tree of the Year

Nominate your favorite large shade tree or small understory tree to win the grand title of TREE OF THE YEAR.  The winning tree will have a beautiful plaque installed at its base and be featured on the Tree of the Year website.  Application Deadline = June 30th

Teens go Green for Lady Bird Lake

More than 270 volunteers signed up to clean up the lake and shoreline on Saturday, December 5th and were treated to hands-on educational activities about pollution prevention and trash lead by KAB Green Teens.
