Austin is taking One Green Step
The City launches the One Green Step campaign the week of April 22, 2010, which marks the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. The campaign will provide information on local sustainability issues and inspire people to commit to small, personal green steps to help make Austin a cleaner and greener place to live. Garriott, one of the few private individuals to go into space, is renowned among computer gamers as the creator of the legendary Ultima game series. He became an environmental advocate after viewing Earth through the window of a spacecraft, and has since devoted himself to spreading the message that we need to protect our tiny planet by taking personal steps towards responsible, sustainable consumption.
