Students Pack Up To Pick Up Town Lake Trash KXAN NEWS: Updated: April 26, 2007 09:48 AM Town Lake was cleaner, Wednesday thanks to the efforts of Austin students. Students from the Odyssey School spent the day in and around Town Lake, cleaning up trash. The students worked with Keep Austin Beautiful as part of their service-learning education. "The kids love it," said John Brinson of the school. "They are really happy to be out of the classroom, and they learn a lot out here. They learn how to work together, to get out of the classroom, and they learn about the environment. It's a great experience for them." Odyssey is a nonprofit school for children with learning disabilities. |
