Juneteenth

On Juneteenth, Austinites commemorate the end of slavery in the United States.  The celebration is kicked off by a parade in the morning and continues on with entertainment and games in Rosewood Park.  Austin Zero Waste needs volunteers to serve as Environmental Ambassadors for this event.  Environmental Ambassadors will be stationed throughout the event to inform and assist the attendees with recycling and to educate them on the importance of diverting waste to help Austin move towards a more sustainable future. 

Date:  Friday, June 19th

Time:  8:00am -8:30pm

Location: Rosewood Park Pavillion, 1182 North Pleasant Valley Drive (Central East Austin – 78702)

Parking:  Volunteers who register by June 5th will receive parking vouchers

Note:  Volunteers shifts are as follows.  Choose the top 3 time slots that they want to work and contact either Rebecca Hayes or Dee Nguyen.  Shifts are assigned on a "first-come, first serve" basis.

Shift 1:            8am -10:30am

Shift 2:            10am -12:30pm         

Shift 3:            12pm -2:30pm

Shift 4:            2pm -4:30pm

Shift 5:            4pm -6:30pm

Shift 6:            6pm -8:30pm
