PODER Hosts Trash Pick-up at Oak Springs Water Quality Preserve

01/12/2008

What was once an abandoned six acres to be cleared and paved for retail and fast food is now a lush, peaceful, tree-filled preserve where springs trickle, native species thrive, and a trail bypasses the busy intersection of Airport Blvd. (PODER praises American Youth Works' hard work in cleaning up and building the trail).  Now we invite community members to see the progress and help pick up trash along the springs.

Where: Oak Springs Preserve, 3106 Oak Springs Dr, just off Airport Blvd
            (across from the library)
When: Saturday, January 12th, 9am-12pm (come early if you can)
What to bring:  Long pants, comfy shoes, friends! (and gloves if you have them)
Please Contact: Carmen Llanes, PODER, carmen.llanes@gmail.com 472-9921 or 633 4312

Please let Carmen know how many people you will bring.  PODER hopes for a great turn out from the local neighborhoods.

Breakfast will be provided! (Check out their Recent Events to get the scoop on the
Oak Springs Victory, at www.poder-texas.org )
