Call for Projects – MLK Day of Service

**Project Registration deadline is December 31, 2009.**

Like Dr. King, Hands On Central Texas believes everyone can achieve greatness through service to others. The MLK Day of Service volunteer projects and activities will help volunteers understand how to use Dr. King’s blueprint for civic and social activism to affect social change in our community. It is a day of volunteering to feed the hungry, rehabilitate housing, tutoring those who can't read, mentoring youngsters, and many other projects for building the beloved community of his dream.  Register your volunteer project today!

Start the day with a Kickoff entitled “Reflecting on the Dream,” a civic engagement session that will focus on Dr. King’s philosophies and why they are still relevant today.

All volunteers are required to check-in at Huston-Tillotson University starting at 8:30am!
Project Deadline: Project Registration deadline is December 31, 2009.
*Even though you have a few weeks to submit your projects, we're asking you to add them to our site as soon as you can to ensure we can get 100% participation from our volunteers.

Click below to open the instructions on how to post your project on Hands On Central Texas (HOT). All volunteer projects should be registered on the Hands On Central Texas website - www.handsoncentraltexas.org. Please print out the instructions, review and register your project.

Event Logistics:
All volunteer projects should run from 10:30am – 3:00 pm or until the project is finished. Hands On Central Texas will be hosting an event Kickoff at Huston-Tillotson University from 9:00am - 10:00 am. All volunteers must check-in for their projects at the Kickoff location. Please inform your volunteers about the Kickoff and volunteer check-in. Agency coordinators are invited to attend as well.
