MLK Day of Service

01/16/10

Like Dr. King, Hands On Central Texas believes everyone can achieve greatness through service to others. The MLK Day of Service volunteer projects and activities will help volunteers understand how to use Dr. King’s blueprint for civic and social activism to affect social change in our community. It is a day of volunteering to feed the hungry, rehabilitate housing, tutoring those who can't read, mentoring youngsters, and many other projects for building the beloved community of his dream.

Start the day with a Kickoff entitled “Reflecting on the Dream,” a civic engagement session that will focus on Dr. King’s philosophies and why they are still relevant today.
