KAB’s Event Recycling Program was launched 3 years ago to fill a need for free support to event organizers wishing to recycle and green their events.  KAB acquired resources and dedicated part of our existing program staff to coordinate the program.  However, the demand for this program has continued to grow and at this point the program needs dedicated staff in order to run effectively. KAB does not currently have the resources to make this possible.

 

The KAB Event Recycling Program will be put on hold effective July 28th, 2009 while we look at options to either continue or discontinue service.  We apologize for any inconvenience.

Make Recycling a Reality

Frustrated with the amount of recyclables that get thrown away at events?  Keep Austin Beautiful can make your next event environmentally friendly with easy to use recycling containers. KAB provides free recycling containers for use at fundraisers, parties, concerts, races, and other events. 

 

 

It’s Simple

 

  • Read our guidelines/agreement (we’ll have a hard copy for you to sign when you collect your bins)
  • CLICK HERE to fill out the request form
  • We’ll confirm your reservation and pickup time
  • Check out the containers from us at the pre-arranged time and have a wonderful event!
  • After your event wipe down the containers, store them in a safe location, and bring them back to us at the pre-arranged time.

Results

KAB’s event recycling program was launched the end of 2005 when we received a grant to purchase 50 recycling bins to share with the community.  Since then the number of events borrowing our recycling bins has sky rocketed from 2 in '05 to 22 in '06 to 81 in '07 and 103 in '08! Since the program’s inception, more than 15 TONS of recyclables has been diverted from the landfill thanks to event organizers providing the option to recycle.
