Registration Open – August’s Lake Cleanup
Beat the heat, and the trash, by enjoying Austin from the water during a lake cleanup.  Each cleanup site will end with a prize for the most unusual object found during the cleanup, and all volunteers will be invited to join events later in the day including an on-the-water race, party with live music, & a movie shown under the stars hosted by The Expedition School

Splash! into Summer
Join KAB for our 5th Cultivating Leaders field trip of 2011 as we Splash! into summer and get up close and personal with Austin’s infamous salamanders. Enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of the city’s Spash! Exhibit including a visit to Eliza Springs, the endangered salamanders’ primary habitat.

KAB Recycled Fashion Wins Best in Show
On June 23rd, Keep Austin Beautiful was proud to accept Keep Texas Beautiful’s 1st Place Civic Leadership award for the 2010 KAB Recycled Fashion Show.  The award recognizes the collaboration between KAB, The Austin Museum of Art, and Austin’s top fashion designers to raise awareness about recycling and engage a new audience to think about waste reduction.

Save the Date: Lake Travis Underwater Cleanup – September 11th
Join us on September 11th as we unite with volunteers across the nation to make the tenth anniversary of 9/11 one of service and remembrance.  Dust offyour dive gear and get ready to be part of the BIGGEST underwater (and shoreline) cleanup in Texas, the 17th Annual Lake Travis Underwater Cleanup! We need divers and shoreline volunteers to help keep Lake Travis clean and beautiful. And don’t forget about the volunteer party at Carlos’ N Charlie’s after the cleanup!

School is out but Learning is still in Season
This summer over 50 teachers and educators assumed the role of students to head outdoors and learn about water from the ground up including, hydrogeology, water quality, urban watersheds, and more. The 3-day learning adventure was part of the sixth annual Groundwater to the Gulf: Summer Institute hosted by fourteen organizations including KAB.

Clean Sweep- April 5th

Every year thousands of volunteers come together for Clean Sweep - Austin's annual city-wide cleanup. Last year 25 TONS of trash was removed from public space in just two hours!

Project registration is now open and we're looking for a few good leaders. KAB project leaders select an area to cleanup and lead the cleanup on April 5th. It is VERY EASY- KAB will provide everything you need to coordinate including help recruiting & registering volunteers.

Tree Folks Needs Your help
