Clean Sweep Leader Registration Now Open!

Can you think of an area in Austin where you've seen litter collecting lately?  Is there a site near your neighborhood, school or business that could use a little love?  If you're ready to do something about it, then you're the perfect fit to be a Leader for this year's Clean Sweep on April 14th 2012. MLK Day of Service at Montopolis Greenbelt

Join us this MLK Day for a Day of Service! On Saturday, January 16th KAB is teaming up with American Youthworks, Austin Parks Foundation, and the Montopolis Greenbelt Association to remove trash, tires, and invasive species from the Montopolis Greenbelt. Find out more about how you can help!

 

KAB Habitat Project at Webb Middle School

Come see what Webb Middle School is working on this MLK day.  Volunteers are invited to help build a habitat garden with the Clean Creek Campus students.  Installing pathways, planting trees, and creating brick borders are all parts of the group's goal for the workday.

Plastic Caps to Art Sculpture

Building a large-scale permanent sculpture from thousands of discarded, reclaimed plastic caps and lids is not an easy task. Discover who artist George Sabra is accomplishing this and how you can be a part of the process.

Save the Date for our next Lady Bird Lake Cleanup

Start the new year off right by giving back to the community! Save the date for our next Lady Bird Lake cleanup, which will take place on February 11th. Join us for a fun-filled Saturday morning making friends and helping remove litter from the shores of the lake.  This is a perfect volunteer opportunity for individuals or groups. Longhorn Recycle Roundup, Apply today!

Each year KAB partners with the Longhorn Recycle Roundup by organizing the Good Sports Always Recycle Program, to recognize school recycling and environmental efforts. All schools in the Austin Area are invited to apply. Applications due Monday, October 17th at 8am.

 

TreeFolks Tree Grants Now Available

Claim your free trees to beautify, provide shade and reduce energy costs. Applications for Tree Folks' CommuniTrees and Urban Orchard Project tree grants are now being accepted to plant trees in publicly accessible spaces.
